Guided by the belief that effective journalism provides people with an essential framework for understanding and engaging with their communities, Josh Cohen strives to produce informative, intelligent, thought-provoking articles. Josh lives Seattle where he works a freelancer writing about transportation politics, transgendered professional cyclists, underwater archaeologists, and much more.
Until recently, Josh wrote the BikeNerd column for Seattle news and politics website PubliCola. He spent his college years working as a staff writer, news editor, and editor in chief for the student run newspaper, The Guilfordian. In summer 2007 he interned for the television news journal NOW on PBS. After graduating, he spent 10 months interning for DC-based education publications Teacher Magazine and Education Week.
When he’s not writing you can often find Josh riding bicycles, pretending he’s fit enough to compete as a cyclocross racer, playing drums, guitar or mandolin, or exploring Seattle.
